On a Saturday night we had a craving for some Mexican food, so we decided to give Avenida a try. I called on our way (2 adults and 2 toddlers) to get on their waitlist. When we arrived we were escorted to a table that was all set up and ready to go! As soon as we buckled the kids into the high chairs the chips and salsa arrived as did our server to fill our waters and get our drink order. Shortly after, fresh fruit (grapes and oranges) were brought to the table for our toddlers. -really? Free fresh fruit? AMAZING! We mentioned to our server that it was our first time there and she gave us a few recommendations and then told us we should try the happy hour menu as it goes until 6. We ordered a variety of dishes (chicken tostadas, lettuce wraps, Mexican corn, fish chimichanga, quesadilla and a taco). The food was DELICIOUS! I've rarely ate at a restaurant and loved every bite. The food felt clean! The service we received was fantastic! As soon as the last chip was taken from the basket a new basket arrived. We had everything we needed and our toddlers were warmly welcomed. As we were eating our meal we were already talking about when we would come back! To top off our wonderful experience, the manager gave us a goodwill discount when we got the bill. What? A discount? It was completely unexpected and wonderful! We would highly recommend this restaurant! Great food, reasonably priced and family friendly!

Dana the manager there was kind enough to give me and my coworkers a second chance ( gifted us with a card). You see I've been here, raved about the place , our boss wanted to treat us to lunch and when we received our lunch we were a little surprised at how very tiny , small portioned it was, that my boss called in her concern and this the gift card. Excellent customer service ! My fellow works LOVED their choices and vowed to go again on their personal time. Yay me! Really though this is a well thought of establishment. EVERYTHING is worth your hard earned dollar. Don't forget to tip well. Oh and children welcome o'le. I ordered the Avenida ceviche. Almost forgot to photograph it it was so good. Couldn't be bothered to take out the plastic fork‍

If you haven't tried the chaufa, you haven't lived. It is the BEST and definitely worth sharing. Hey can split the dish for you. I went home and attempted to make chaufa the next day. Yep it's that good! You get free chips and salsa. The margarita is strong but sooo good.

First off, I don't know why the bad reviews.. I came here with my hubs on a saturday, on one of our many Menards trips, and they had Saturday HH. What? Yes... yes they did. 3-7 or something crazy... we were there at the start of HH. 1/2 price apps and drink specials. I got the Ahi Tuna Tacos and a shrimp skewer. He got the Tostadas and Elote. We each should have just picked one thing, it was a lot of food! I also had a margarita and the hubs had a beer. The food was incredible. The service was good, and the food was amazing. I don't know why it's so quiet here and bad reviews. everything we experienced was amazing! Will def be back!

5 stars my First & Second time here. This place has really flavorful food and amazing service. The ceviche bar is a great place to enjoy their tasty appetizers during happy hour. Ceviche Mixto, empanadas de queso & Chile Relleno were the best I had in the twin cities. Luke (server) was really knowledgeable of the whole menu and often checked back. Good came fast and always at the perfect temperatures. Definitely recommend it. 3 stars this time. My Third visit - Good Friday - came for dinner. Lady server wasn't as good as the guys I had on my previous visits. Beef nachos was to die for - the best I've had. Tamales are great. Guacamole left a pit to be desired, the one with pineapple is sweet (not very good). Arroz con mariscos was tasty but the shellfish was overdone n coming apart over the rice/paella. Do NOT recommend the Mahi Mahi al Pastor - thought it was pretty bland. The flan is amazing.
